About Brandon
Brandon is located in Southwestern Vermont, between Rutland to the south and Middlebury to the north. With a population of around 4,000 it is a quintessential Vermont small town.
We have certified historic buildings, a town green with a bandstand, a Civil War monument, no parking meters and no traffic lights. Brandon is quite picturesque in its location between the Neshobe River and the Otter Creek with vistas of the Green Mountain National Forest as a backdrop.

For
many years Brandon was considered a town on the downslide, with no major
employment opportunities and the tough Vermont economy. However, through
the energy of many caring people, The Chamber of Commerce, www.brandon.org and artist/resident Warren Kimble, the town began to re-create itself.
In the wake of the successful "Really Really Pig Show" and other
community wide art events, the town has found itself in the beginning of
a renaissance. Newly renovated buildings and businesses have found a
foothold in the positive spirit of a community that could see the humor
in parading 40 gloriously painted pig statues down the center of town.
All this has conspired to make Brandon a shining example of a livable,
creative and independent Vermont town. |
